It is a small spherical thing on one end and a little sliding scale on the other end, designed to check the air pressure inside the tires on a vehicle. As you all know, air is a measurable gas. When it is pumped into a tire, its individual atoms want to press against the outside of the container, that's why it can be measured. To use this device, you have to remove the protective filler cap from the tire. Insert the tire gauge and press firmly. Make sure there's a pressure coming out from the tire. You can determine the proper amount of air pressure for a particular tire by looking at the sidewall of the tire or checking the car manual. Take note that when checking the air pressure, make sure the tire is not hot. A tire that is hot will make the reading incorrect. You also need to store the tire gauge in a cool or dry place to prevent internal damage.
